Popcorn Fields

Inspired by whimsical scenes of meadows, forests and trails in nature. This piece is a custom textile artwork that uses colour, line work and rhythmic texture to flow each abstract scene into the next. In collaboration with Pencil Design.

This large artwork is composed of five panel framed together and are hand woven on a floor loom, each has a unique vertical stripe pattern that adds texture and dimension to the cloth. A custom weaving technique is used to create inlay features and overshot patterns that add to the illustrative and linear aspects of the piece. Hand embroidered with rich and textural fibres to create a diverse range of organic line work to illustrate a each unique design. Installed on a custom made wood frame with an original sconce light feature by Pencil Design.
